MarCom 2020 Awards Recognize QNET’s Outstanding Marketing Communications During the Pandemic

One of Asia’s leading e-commerce based direct selling companies has won big at the annual MarCom 2020 Awards. At the 17th annual event, QNET won a total of three gold awards. As though that weren’t enough, the well-known ecommerce business also received an honorable mention during the ceremony. The honors recognize three of QNET’s captivating marketing communications assets developed this year: ‘Revolutionising the Future of Entrepreneurship’ video, QNET Comes Together for Tomorrow’ video, and a ‘Stronger Than Ever’ magazine theme.

While 2020 reshaped the commercial landscape, businesses have had to adapt. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, some of the world’s leading brands have enhanced their digital presence. One such business pioneering the way was QNET. The direct selling company took the opportunity to launch a variety of engaging marketing campaigns. Through proactive communications, the brand engaged with and appealed to stakeholders and clients alike.

Thanks to these efforts, QNET was among the honorees highlighted at the annual MarCom Awards. Sponsored and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), MarCom is a highly-acclaimed awards ceremony. AMCP is a 25-year-old international organization featuring several thousand creative professionals.

‘Revolutionising the Future of Entrepreneurship’ Video

Employment has been a hot topic this year. As companies around the world downsized due to the pandemic, many people found themselves unemployed. Worldwide unemployment was at around 190 million back in April 2020 just as the COVID-19 restrictions started to come into play, according to the UN’s International Labour Organisation.

In May, QNET responded to this trend directly, with the video: QNET and Direct Selling: Revolutionising the Future of Entrepreneurship. The campaign shared information about the non-traditional career opportunities for those facing sudden job loss. It was a major success and took gold in the Informational Video category at MarCom Awards 2020.

‘QNET Comes Together for Tomorrow’ Video

In July, the company launched the social media campaign: QNET Comes Together for Tomorrow. The short video honored the tireless efforts of frontline workers and essential staff members. It highlighted the countless sacrifices that these brave and hard-working individuals have made since the pandemic began. As a result of the campaign’s success, it won the gold award in the Social Media Video category at the MarCom Awards 2020.

‘Stronger Than Ever’ Magazine Theme

QNET publishes the AspIRe Magazine, which is geared towards the company’s global distributor network. As a response to the pandemic, the brand released a special edition of the publication under the theme ‘Stronger Than Ever’. The issue included advice, tips, and interviews to help the company’s distributors navigate these uncertain times.

As part of the MarCom Awards 2020 ceremony, QNET won a gold award in the Print Media category for this issue of the publication. This issue also offered the audience advice on how to stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns.

QNET’s First Virtual Annual Convention

With restrictions in place throughout 2020, hosting a physical annual convention was out of the question. However, the officials at QNET decided to try something different. The brand hosted its first-ever virtual annual convention, which was a resounding success.

As part of the event, the social media team created the hashtag #VCC2020 to use on all campaigns and posts on Instagram. For this move, the company received an honorable mention in the Digital Media Instagram Engagement category at the MarCom 2020 Awards.

Enhancing Digital Communication Channels

“In a time where social distancing is the norm, at QNET we have focused our customer engagement efforts on digital communication channels,” said QNET’s Chief Executive Officer, Malou T Caluza, explaining the shift in communication strategy.

“Our social media platforms and blog have experienced a 150% increase in traffic and engagement since March this year. We also transformed our flagship annual convention into a virtual convention dubbed VCC2020 that attracted nearly 200,000 participants which contributed to increased social media engagement. These awards are a testament to the capabilities of our communications team who have done a remarkable job of supporting our distributors through innovative online campaigns during these difficult times.”
