Going out dancing is usually associated with drinking which will not help you get into shape. There are a number of different types of dance that differ in how difficult they are. You might find one form of dance appealing while you truly do not like another. You never know unless you try though! You might enjoy a form of dance but might not like the instructor and that is more than ok. 

Dancing can be the best way to get into shape, especially if you do it a few times a week. You don’t have to worry about being extremely sore like if you were lifting weights. You might have soreness the first few times you go dancing for exercise but this will eventually subside.
